My partner & I loved our time at The Island Life! Monika was amazing - a very kind, generous, & helpful host. We loved the delicious breakfast delivered to our room every morning & relaxing wellness area with the jacuzzi & sauna. There were drinks available to purchase in the common kitchen at very affordable prices & free coffee in the room. It was an easy bike ride or walk into De Koog, & the location was good for accessing beach clubs & bike paths to get to other areas of the island. A very relaxing & comfortable stay - would highly recommend for your visit to the island!

Very friendly host. She provided a great welcome. Rooms were perfect, clean, nothing to wish for. Garden contains sort of kitchen to make coffee and to store your stuff in the fridge. Great place to stay!!!

This could have so easily been a 5*, as the apartment in Den Burg was very comfortable and well situated.||However…. A complete lack of service when we needed it most was 1* at best. We struggled accessing the property, yet response from WhatsApp # we were given was ‘this never happens’. Thankfully guests in a neighbouring apartment were able to assist and confirmed they’d had the same problem…. We decided to leave apartment unlocked for the weekend worried the problem would re occur.||Second issue was a second bedroom we couldn’t use as it was damp and could not be aired. When raising this the response was ‘well you better go somewhere else’…. Attempts to speak to them were in vain.||Put a real dampener (pun intended) on the first night of what was only a two night stay.||Maybe 3* is too generous?

It is a a beautiful place in a great location that provides you with peace and tranquility. You have a self-catering option as well as a possibility to enjoy some wellness treatment (book in advance). Thank you Monika and Rob for creating this lovely oasis!

My partner and I stayed here, and it was a phenomenal experience. We paid extra for the spa and sauna access, which was well needed after a long bike ride around the island. The host was kind (she even picked us up from the ferry and took us back!), responsive, and very helpful with providing suggestions. She recommended we check out Ecomare, which is a local seal sanctuary and aquarium, which was also a great experience that I highly recommend. The room was cozy, and the accommodations were great for the price. We also had the breakfast (which I included a photo of), which is one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. This was nothing short of amazing, and I highly recommend it for any trips to Texel.
